Unique features

  • Easy to Use: All metallic watercolors are fast to activate and the high opacity leads to easy handling with brushes and calligraphy nibs.
  • Extreme Sparkle: Combinations of special high quality pigments create a variety of metallic watercolors with stunning sparkle. No fixation needed!

⦁ Unique design: Custom hexagon pans and boxes offer an appealing look combined with functionality and are self designed.

⦁ Very high quality & long lasting colors (20-30% more volume compared to standard half pans, use of highest quality pigments and a sophisticated production process lead to extremely high pigment densities)

⦁ High Opacity: The very fine pigments are completely covering on white and black watercolor paper with only one brushstroke. (Check "How to use" for details)

How to use

The amount of used water for activating the colors is cruical for the resulting properties of the paint. With too much water, the pigment density will be low and the paint not opaque. If too little water is used, the paint will be not taken up sufficiently by the brush and not applied smoothly.

1. Add 1-2 drops of water to the surface of your paint.

2. Wait 3-5 minutes to ensure that sufficient amounts of pigment are taken up by the water. (This step is very important - often we see that the colors are used right away. The pigment density will be low and the paints will not be opaque.)

3. Take your brush and mix the water and paint until you get a creamy consistency and make sure enough paint has been picked up.

4. Now, when you apply your paint to your watercolor paper with a brush, it should be completely opaque and intensely sparkly with just one stroke under direct light.

By adding more water the colors will be come less opaque and you will be able to play with pigments denity up to adding only subtle sparkle onto your artwork

I absolutely love the sparkle glitter paints!

They’re hands down the best I’ve ever used. The colours are vibrant, the glitter adds the perfect touch of shine, and it applies so smoothly. It’s high quality, long-lasting, and makes every project stand out beautifully. I couldn’t be happier – it’s now my go-to for adding that extra sparkle!

Hi! Let me introduce myself. My name is Romana, I am a self taught watercolor artist and mostly paint botanical pieces. But the real cherry on my work are the metallic watercolors I use from Lisilinka. My inspiration mostly comes from nature and I love to paint new flowers every time! Which I also translated to my watercolor course, Enchanting bouquets.

Questions & Answers

What are sparkling metallic watercolors?

Metallic watercolors are vibrant and shimmering watercolors that create a stunning, eye-catching effect. These colors come in a variety of shades, from pastels to deep jewel tones. They have a unique, metallic finish that adds extra shine and luster to paintings and drawings. Metallic watercolors are perfect for adding a unique, shimmery look to both traditional and modern artwork. They are a great choice for creating a bold, standout piece of art. With their vibrant colors and shimmering finish, they are sure to make any painting stand out.

How to activate the colors?

Check out How to use -section above

short:

  • adding 2-3 drops of water
  • waiting 2-3 minutes until color pigments start to dissolve
  • take your brush and mix the water and paint until you get a creamy consistency and make sure enough paint has been picked up.

Can i use the colors for lettering and calligraphy?

Yes, after activating the color sufficiently, they can be used for handlettering and calligraphy with a nib.

How much color is in the pan

- hexagon pans have a custom size with a volume of appr. 2,5ml

- with topping it is around 3ml

- common half pan sizes are 1.8-2ml with up to 2.1-2.3 ml fully topped

the hexagon pans hold around 25-30% more paint than a standard half pan

Because they are handmade the ammounts vary slightly

How to store the colors?

- the colors will be sent in customized boxes to protect them against dust and moisture

- make sure to let a freshly used pan dry before closing the box

- avoid storing the box under too warm conditions (don't put pans and/ or the box into the oven to dry it quicker)

What are the colors made of?

  • the color is made of color pigments, water, gum arabicum, glycerine, glucose, fructose and potassium sorbat
  • check out the product details section above

Is the color harmful?

  • No, the colors are not harmful
  • color pigments are mainly cosmetic grade or metallic pigments for resin casts (I'm frequently checking supplier information, I dont use microplastics)
  • all other components are used in the food industry and used with food grade purity
  • the colors may have a sweet odor and must be kept away from small children since they may choke on it

Are the colors vegan?

Yes, the colors are 100% vegan

Are the colors lightfast?

Lisi uses colors like Crystal Gold, -Silver, -Rose for more than two years and could not see any change in her pictures over time, even on locations exposed to the sun (that is where metallic watercolors shine the most at the end :)). However since we are continously looking for new pigments from different suppliers creating a wider spectrum of shades, we can't confirm that all pigments are lightfast.

What is the difference between Holo- and Crystal color sets?

Holo is short for holographic and means i did add pigments which are reflecting/ scattering the entire range of colors in the visible light.

The crystal colors contain the color pigments exlusively.

For example: Crystal gold has a beautiful golden sparke. Holo Gold however sparkles in gold and with rainbow effect.

In one of our free tutorials (just sign up for our free newsletter and they com in the welcome email) we have a whole chapter where we explain it in detail.
